Description

Sakartvelo (Georgia) is called the cradle of wine for a specific reason – it has 8,000 years of winemaking experience, more than 500 different types of grapes, and the unique Georgian traditional method of winemaking in clay vessels called qvevri. On this tour, you will visit Sevsamora Winery, where you can taste different types of bio-organic wines and explore the winery’s museum. Continue your journey to Chateau Mukhrani, the first Georgian royal chateau, established in 1876 by Ivane Mukhranbatoni, a famous representative of the royal family who gathered his knowledge of the chateau concept in France. Afterward, visit Jvari Monastery and the town of Mtskheta with Svetitskhoveli Cathedral to learn about the strong bonds between Georgian wine and historical sites, each adorned with elegant grape decorations on their exteriors. Winemaking is a lifelong tradition in Sakartvelo.
